Templates

A lot of people find that there is a core group of products that they buy every time, so at least part of their list is the same every time they shop.  To save time when creating your list, you may wish to create one or more List Templates containing the core products that you commonly buy.

Creating a List Template

1. Start MyListmate.

2. Choose New ... from the List menu, or click on the button on the Main Toolbar.

3. Give your template a name.  Use a name that will distinguish it from your other lists, such as Common Products or MyTemplate or similar.

4. Add your commonly purchased products to the template using the correct unit and quantity. (See Creating a List).

5. When finished, Save the template by choosing the Save option from the List menu, or by clicking on the button on the Main Toolbar.

Using a Template

1. Start MyListMate.

2. Open the template that you want to base your list upon.  Do this by choosing the Open ... (Ctrl + O) option from the List menu, or by clicking on the option on the Main Toolbar.

3. Use the Save As option from the List menu to save the list using a different name.  (NOTE If you don't choose the Save As option, you will overwrite your List Template).

4. To ensure your list has the most up to date prices for the products it contains, you should choose the Reload Prices option from the List menu.  This will reload the estimated prices for all of the products in the list from the product information in the database.

5. Continue with your list as normal (See Creating a list)
